Don't fear fever

Even though this isn't technically an all natural health remedy, this has really helped when dealing with my kids' fevers. I've had four, so there's been lots of observation and field work!
What you say about fever is true, the best cure might be just to "wait it out", and let the body take its natural course.
We've always been told to be afraid of fever so much that some parents can't even tolerate it for a short period of time.
The widespread belief is that Tylenol or Advil must be given immediately to a feverish child as "medicine", which can't be further from the truth.
Fever is the most natural way the body rid itself of accumulated negative energy - stress, negative emotions, unwanted bacteria and viruses that thrive on it. So the fever is like a fire that "burns" all the "garbage" that was being neglected otherwise.
This cleansing process is a blessing for the body. All it needs is to be left alone in a restful atmosphere, with some gentle help in the form of fluids to sweep the toxins out.
Even if the fever stays longer than we think it should - who are we to decide, how much time the body needs to burn all the trash? Let the body decide, it is much smarter than we think!
It is best not to interfere with the body (ie - hitting it with a ton of acetominophen), in effect burying the problems deeper down into the physical, and more delicate emotional and spiritual bodies. Instead you can help your child, by tuning into what's going on in the body.
Children usually just need a lot of sleep during the process. As far as cleansing, a lot of toxins are eliminated through the skin and the breath with each exhalation.
Keep your child's room well ventilated and filled with fresh air, and change the clothes often if they are sweaty.
When the child is feeling better, give him or her a nice bath. When the appetite is back, the best thing to eat is fresh fruits rich in vitamin C, like berries or oranges. Definitely nothing heavy like meat or fried foods.
These are my personal experiences after years of tuning in to my sick children, and my own body. All the best for parents reading this!
